Where are my files?

Each year’s spreadsheet and receipts, sorted into category folders, are in the Files app under iCloud Drive › Housing. If iCloud Drive is off, they’re in On My iPhone › Housing.

How do I send everything to my tax preparer?

Open the year on Home and tap Send to Tax Preparer.

My expenses aren’t on my other device.

Make sure both devices are signed in to the same Apple Account with iCloud turned on, then open Housing on each. Syncing can take a few minutes.

What counts as a housing expense?

The starter categories follow the IRS’s examples in Publication 517. Whether a specific expense counts is a good question for your tax professional.

Is the housing allowance tax-free?

It’s usually free of income tax but not self-employment tax, and any allowance you don’t spend on housing is reported as income. Housing keeps your records; a tax professional can tell you how much you can exclude.

How do I restore my purchase?

In Housing, open Settings and tap Restore Purchases, signed in with the Apple Account you bought it with.

How do I cancel my subscription?

In the Settings app, tap your name › Subscriptions › Housing. Your expenses stay, and you can still view and export them.
